Opleiding: PRINCE2® Foundation (english version)

Leerdoel

The PRINCE2® Foundation course is meant for people who already have some knowledge and experience with project management and want to learn the PRINCE2® method of Project Management. The theory of this method will be discussed comprehensively. The PRINCE2® components, processes and techniques are discussed using actual examples and cases. During the course you will practice the PRINCE2® method. The course will also prepare you for the PRINCE2® Foundation Exam. Our trainers are PRINCE2 certified and offer up-to-date knowledge.

After the course you will be familiar with the terms of PRINCE2® and you will understand the value of: 

• Role definitions of the project manager and project board 
• A well-founded business case as a justification of the project
• Directing a project with stages and tolerances 
• Product Based Planning and the use of Product Descriptions 
• An up-to-date Risk Log, Issue Log and Quality Log 
• Change control

Doelgroep

Employees or managers who will learn the basic principles of the Project Management method of PRINCE2®. The course is necessary to pass the PRINCE2® Foundation exam.

The course discusses the following subjects:

• Background and history of the PRINCE2® method

• What is PRINCE2®? 

• The PRINCE2® components: 
  • business case 
  • organisation 
  • plans 
  • controls 
  • management of risk 
  • quality in a project environment 
  • configuration management 
  • change control 

• The PRINCE2® processes: 
  • starting up a project 
  • initiating a project 
  • directing a project 
  • planning 
  • managing stage boundaries 
  • controlling a stage 
  • managing product delivery 
  • closing a project

• The PRINCE2® techniques: 
  • product based planning 
  • change control technique 
  • quality review techniek

Theory will be alternate with exercises. The theory of the PRINCE2® method is described in a small booklet 'PRINCE2® Compact'. This booklet is included in the price of the course.

Certification
The PRINCE2® Foundation course takes 2 days. After the PRINCE2® Foundation course we offer a PRINCE2® Exam preparation course of half a day. People who join both courses have a very good chance to pass the exam (99%).
