Opleiding: SAP BusinessObjects (BI4.0) Boot Camp

Leerdoel

Getting a grip on the Business Intelligence tools and capabilities of SAP BusinessObjects and working with the tools, that is the focus of the SAP BusinessObjects (BI4.0) Boot Camp. The general part of this boot camp starts with the SAP BI roadmap. You will learn which architecture and portfolio SAP has created so far and what is still to come. The reporting tools will be discussed and some hands on activity with tools is incorporated here already. Of course we will discuss tool selection and considerations. The integration of SAP BusinessObjects with other components, SAP or non-SAP, is covered in the training as well.

In the second part of the training you will learn how to work with SAP BusinessObjects Tools – BI4.0, for instance Web Intelligence, Dashboarding (Xcelsius) and Crystal reports. There will be some explanation of the tools but mainly you will go through the tools yourself. Working with a realistic business case you will discover the possibilities and get a lot of practice with the tools, supported by our trainer. Consequently you will learn to built your own reports and dashboards.

Upon completion of the course you will:

• be able to describe the BI roadmap in headlines 
• have insight in how the market values SAP BI
• be able to describe the SAP BusinessObjects architecture in headlines 
• understand the concepts in headlines
• have insight in the SAP BusinessObjects portfolio
• be able to do a tool selection in highlights 
• know how to start a BI project using general guideliness 
• have practiced how to work with: BO Explorer, Web Intelligence, Dashboarding (Xcelsius) and Crystal reports

• BusinessObjects architecture
• BusinessObjects portfolio
  • BI launchpad, BI workspace, Dashboards, Mobile
  • Web Intelligence, Semantic layer, Crystal reports, Explorer etc.
• Tool selection & considerations: before you begin, usergroups, use cases for tool selection, migration BW to BO
• Integration architecture
• BO Explorer
• Web Intelligence: data sources, WeBi Interface, building web intelligence documents, formatting reports
• Dashboarding (Xcelsius): positioning, features, formatting, visualizations, connections, best practices and troubleshooting
• Crystal reports: introduction, semantic layer, crystal reports interface and building crystal reports

The training material is in English.

In the first part of the bootcamp there is a lot of room for (group-) discussion. In the second part you will work with the SAP BusinessObjects tools and learn to build your own reports and dashboards.
