The MBA degree is probably the worlds' best-known, most recognized and sought after graduate degrees. It’s a professional degree, preparing you for a career in business and management.
Degree business administration
There’s no such thing as a ‘standard’ MBA. The kind of coursework involved varies from one institution to another, from one country to the next. Generally, it involves studies in finance, marketing, information technology, human resources, project management and accounting.
The aim of an MBA is simply to develop the kinds of skills and competencies you need to succeed – from your first managerial role, through to more senior, strategic and executive positions.
Costs
The package fee for the complete Master in Business Administration for 2011/2012 are €17,750, which can be paid in instalments. For the Foundation Course, fees for the academic year 2011/2012 are roughly €4,250 (Full-time MBA) or € 2,125 (Part-time MBA).
Individual Foundation Course courses cost around €700. Your package fee includes the cost of your lectures, (only for full-time students) books, materials, intranet and library facilities, graduation fee student ID and enrolment fee.
Health insurance
Health insurance costs about €455 a year, depending on your own condition.
Accomodation and cost of living
You can expect to pay about €600 a month on rent, living expenses and food – but that’s just a rough guide. If you need help finding somewhere to live, DuWo can help you once you’ve enrolled. Go to the DuWo website www.duwo.nl and click on ‘Foreign Students’. Don’t forget to take any costs of living abroad into account (like phoning home).
Alumni
Our graduates end up working and living all over the world – in the private and public sector, for profit or not-for-profit.
Our Alumni Association – ‘The Hague Masters’ – was founded in 1997 to mark our 50th ‘state of the art’ MBA graduate. It currently includes over 400 MBA, MAAC and MICM graduates.
‘The Hague Masters’ represents a significant network of contacts and opportunities for our graduates. The alumni website is a digital meeting place, where they can make all the right kinds of international and professional connections.
Doelgroep
People decide to study for an MBA for many reasons – professional development, career opportunities, personal interest. It’s often the first step to a promotion, or a raise. In the US in particular, but also in Europe, it’s practically a prerequisite for the top management jobs.
It’s the kind of degree that takes a good deal of ambition, drive and entrepreneurial spirit. It’s a short but intensive program, combining theory and hands-on experience.
Most MBA students tend to be in their mid 20’s to 30’s – but age is no barrier.
Programma
Our MBA takes a multi-disciplinary approach, with a strong international focus. It’s made up of a series of courses, covering a number of different but related subjects: Finance and Accounting, Human Resource Management, Marketing and Projects.
Course Schedules
Your schedule will depend on whether you’re studying full-time or part-time, and whether or not you’re required to take the foundation course (i.e. if your undergraduate degree isn’t in business).
