I looked for an interactive programme that would stimulate me to think outside the ‘Asian box’. Of all the international programmes, I chose to study in The Netherlands for several reasons.
First, many multinational corporations’ global or European headquarters are located there. For me, this translated into an opportunity to apply and test my learning during an internship in the real business world. I learned that from the government, to enterprises and individuals, Dutch people really know how to market their country, their corporations and themselves.
And living in The Netherlands also meant a chance to explore the different European countries nearby. Even without travelling, at TiasNimbas Business School, half of my classmates were Dutch while the other half comprised students from 15 different nationalities. Our group-oriented class structure provided the ideal environment to learn from my classmates, both through school life and social life.
I chose TiasNimbas because the small-size class provided individual attention, while in other big scale business schools we might just be student numbers. Moreover, the unique block teaching system gave us not only academic knowledge, but also the additional lesson of time management.
I look back at a wonderful year at TiasNimbas. I graduated feeling more confident than before I started my journey. Looking forward, I know I have local friends in many cities around the world.
