Opleiding: Master of Transport and Maritime Management (MTMM)
Leerdoel
The M.Sc. in Transport and Maritime Management (MTMM) aims to prepare its graduates for the challenges transport companies are faced with today. As such, it enables people in the transport sector to upgrade their technical knowledge and abilities through state-of-the-art specialist courses, combined with general management training. The programme employs a wide variety of teaching methods and styles designed to create a challenging and stimulating learning environment including structured lecture programmes, seminars, case studies, project work, talks by eminent external speakers and visits to organizations who are leading the way forward in the practice of managing and planning transportation systems.
The main objective of the MTMM programme is to help executive staff members from transport-related companies and organizations (shipping companies, port authorities, terminal operators, etc.) become top-hat executives. Selection criteria include relevant work experience (preferably 3 years minimum) and career objectives.

Candidates are selected on the basis of a comparative examination of all application forms. Due to the highly interactive character of the programme only 30 participants can attend. The candidates are therefore strongly advized to apply early. Applications are assessed on a continuous basis from the beginning of January until the end of April. The thirty seats will be allocated on a first-paid, first-served basis.
One of the basic entry requirements for the MTMM programme is a university or college degree (of a 4-year minimum full-time programme) in a relevant subject (applied economics, law, commercial or civil engineering, commercial sciences, political sciences, maritime sciences or nautical sciences, ...). Selection criteria include relevant work experience (preferably 3 years minimum) and career objectives. Candidates who do not hold one of the above-mentioned degrees, but who hold another university an or college degree in another discipline can be admitted, provided that they have an extensive professional experience of at least 5 years. Candidates may come from both private industries and public organizations.
Since the programme is taught in English, all applicants must be able to read with ease, follow lectures and express their thoughts in fluent written and spoken English. For students whose first language is not English, the following qualifications will meet the English language requirement for entry to the MTMM programme:
- a first degree from a European university or college;
- or a first degree from an overseas institution recognized by the Institute as providing adequate evidence of proficiency in the English language;
- a TOEFL (Test of English as a Foreign Language, http://www.toefl.org/ ) . A score of 550 minimum for the paper-based test (PBT) is required or 213 for the computer-based test (CBT), or 80 for TOEFL internet-based(iBT) score;
