Opleiding: International MBA
Leerdoel
Initiated in 1982, our International MBA (IMBA) program is one of the longest-running MBA programs in Europe. Widely respected for its business relevance, the IMBA program is committed to ensuring that our students graduate with knowledge and skills that are immediately applicable across the business world. This provides an excellent preparation for business management – both now and into the future.
The International Master of Business Administration is geared towards developing globally-minded business leaders and managers who possess specific competencies essential for the success of 21st century organizations. In addition to providing future business leaders with thorough grounding in the fundamental areas of marketing, finance, accounting and operations management, the program focuses on developing skills that are vital to effective management - the ability to communicate, motivate and lead people. Mandatory work in a small multi-cultural project fosters teambuilding, and manageable numbers allow our faculty to provide each individual with constructive feedback regarding skill acquisition and development. Active participation is required of everyone, with strong interaction between participants and faculty.
Doelgroep
The International MBA program especially attracts internationally oriented professionals that seek to widen their knowledge of business and to further develop the interpersonal skills that are essential for doing business sucessfully.

Programma
The IMBA core program (12 months)
As a university, academic excellence is essential, and our faculty are widely-published experts in their fields. However, in business theory alone is never enough. Our IMBA program covers a wide range of the functional areas of business, and then requires you to apply your knowledge to the reality of the commercial world. The classes will be a combination of problem-based learning, lectures, workshops, case studies, business simulations and video conference. The topics range from finance and accounting, strategic marketing, sustainability and business to operations management, geopolitics and international business law.
We believe in action, interaction and teamwork. As students, working together on business problems and group assignments means you can inspire and support each other, and learn from the experience of the international community of students.
As the International MBA program is quite rigorous, many of our students are interested in sharpening their quantitative and English skills before the core program begins. As of November 2009, students will have the opportunity to follow a six-week 'warm-up" program that will cover topics such as statistics, economics, English writing skills and managerial sciences. By opting for this program, students will be equipped with the necessary knowledge to confidently start the core program.
The IMBA specialization program (15 months)
Students in the International MBA program can, in addition to the core 12-month program, choose to undertake one of our specialization tracks. Combining both courses and projects, these tracks are designed for students looking to either begin a career in a specific field or enhance their existing knowledge and experience.

Admissions process and requirements
Information gathering
If you are able to travel to the Netherlands as part of your study search, we highly recommend that you attend an information session, or schedule a personal meeting, where you will have the opportunity to see our campus and meet program management, as well as students and alumni. If you are unable to do so, you can always visit our stand during MBA fairs in a city near you.
Taking the GMAT test
The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a computerized examination created and administered by the Educational Testing Service on behalf of the Graduate Management Admission Council. It is required by virtually every quality business school in the world. The GMAT measures language, writing skills and quantitative abilities and is intended to indicate a person’s potential as a participant of an MBA program.
It is advisable to schedule the GMAT test early on at www.mba.com. Due to high testing volume, some test sites may not be able to offer you a test date immediately.
