Building Bridges with Chinese Business

Datum/data 08-11-'12
Locatie Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University, J-Building
Toelichting

This half-day interactive workshop will provide you with valuable insight into China’s rapidly developing economy and business sector. Although China is dominating the headlines as the most dynamic economy in the world, our knowledge of China’s firms, business routines and strategic behavior remains scarce. It is therefore crucial that we acknowledge the role of the state, diversity and private entrepreneurship if we want to meet the challenges imposed by China.

Our ability to coordinate with Chinese firms and to build up joint capabilities will decide the competitiveness of European firms in China and Chinese firms in Europe. Chinese companies floating their firms on European stock exchanges and buying European companies generate new forms of co-operation between firms and business systems. In this uncharted business territory, there’s a high demand for thorough knowledge of China’s economy and business sector.

Participants of this workshop will:

  • Construct factual knowledge about business in China;
  • Understand and explain why China is not one business system;
  • Understand the consequences of China’s economic growth for the rest of the world.

This workshop offers cutting edge and expert information provided by the ERIM China Business Research Centre.
