In an age of business innovation and rapid technological growth, commercial opportunities are abundant for those who are well prepared to seize them quickly. Creators well equipped with the latest business knowledge and experienced in entrepreneurship will have an enormous advantage when commercialising new technologies.


Our Executive Master of Business Innovation is a new and unique offering which is developed to accommodate the challenges entrepreneurs will have to conquer. The programme is unique in the world in its set up and content:

  • It is offered on a part-time basis over a two-year period in order not to disturb the venture process.
  • It is structured in blocks of 8 months along major venture phases in order to offer the appropriate knowledge and support at the right moment of venture development.
  • It offers state-of-the-art knowledge and project coaching by specialists and experienced and international faculty.
  • It offers knowledge adapted to the European context based on relevant European examples.
  • It is a flexible programme, which allows participants to compile their own appropriate package of courses or parts of courses tailored to their business needs and level of knowledge.

 

 

Doelgroep

The programme is intended for individuals who aspire to become venture entrepreneurs, launching their own innovative start-up.
Participants have work experience in technology-intensive industry sectors such as hightech, ICT, biotech, or in technology-based service companies active in finance or telecom. Alternatively, they can be MSc- or PhD graduates from technical universities. 


All participants should be eager to launch or develop their emerging innovative high-growth business in an intra- or entrepreneurial context.
Due to the international nature of both participants and faculty the Master of Business Innovation programme is taught in English.
In order to be able to participate in the programme, participants or groups of participants should have an innovative idea to be shaped and developed into a new business venture during the Master of Business Innovation programme.

 

Programma

The Master of Business Innovation programme is designed to guide the venture entrepreneur through all stages of growth in emerging innovative high-growth businesses in a corporate, university, or independent environment.
By providing the right knowledge, training and coaching at the right moment of the venture phase, the programme helps the venture entrepreneur to avoid major pitfalls, to speed up the time-to-market, and to prepare for expansion.


Taught by accomplished, international experts from top-ranked universities and business schools, the two year Master of Business Innovation curriculum provides participants with deep knowledge and skills on topics that are essential to set up and manage innovative high-growth ventures for sustainable growth. Hence, technology and growth strategy, entrepreneurial marketing, venture financing, and human capital management present the core of the curriculum.
Entrepreneurial Labs throughout the three 8-month stages of the MBI curriculum challenge and coach participants to immediately apply studied business concepts to their venture businesses.

During STAGE 1 – DESIGN
Emphasis is put on devising technology strategy and exploring market opportunities for innovative ideas.
This results in an embryonic go-to-market approach and business model for participants’ new ventures.

During STAGE 2 – DEVELOPMENT
More marketing and financial rigor is added to the emerging business model through modules on customer value creation, roadmapping, business modeling and venture financing and valuation. At the Entrepreneurial Lab III, participants defend their scrutinised Business Plans before an investor audience.

During STAGE 3 – GROWTH
The focus is on scaling up the new venture to maturity. Courses now discuss international business expansion strategies, together with supply chain design, human capital management and financial performance control strategies geared to steer rapid venture growth. During the concluding Entrepreneurial Lab IV participants are invited to defend their ultimate plan for venture growth.
The uniqueness of the curriculum of the Master of Business Innovation lies in its dual-track action-learning approach extended over two years of part-time study; with lectures by top international academic faculty wellversed in high-tech practise being immediately applied to participants’ ventures.

 

The modular course is structured in 3 stages of 8 months along major venture phases in order to offer the appropriate knowledge and support at the right moment of venture development.
