Opleiding: International Management Programme
Leerdoel
Develop a global helicopter view on management
Are you ready to take the next step in your management career? Within the context of globalisation, managers are increasingly working cross-border − and so they are increasingly confronted with cultures, values and beliefs different from their own. The International Management Programme offers managers the necessary tools, frameworks and networks to meet these challenges successfully. Managers need to go beyond their own functional expertise and integrate perspectives from multiple management disciplines in order to enlarge their contribution to their organisation from a more generalistic point of view.
What's next?
After this programme, participants will:
- have gained insights into the unique knowledge network of several international organisations
- have mastered new cross-functional insights and tools enhancing the development of their professional competencies
- have access to an intensive and indispensable network of co-participants within the international scene
- have developed and enhanced their soft skills, both individually and within a team
- have a clearer view on how to further develop their competitive international strategy
The Vlerick approach
To ensure a practical and action-oriented approach, case studies are used as the primary − but not exclusive − vehicle for teaching. You are challenged to deal with real-life situations, apply the appropriate concepts and techniques, decide upon a course of action, and discuss your recommendations in class, allowing you to exchange experiences with peers and experts. To maximise knowledge transfer and learning effects, participants are often required to prepare a module before coming to class and, for some topics, a take-home assignment is required.
Doelgroep
Belgian or foreign professionals with international management responsibilities looking to invest in the knowledge and skills required to manage effectively in an international setting. The programme offers a unique learning and networking opportunity with people in similar international roles.
Programma
The International Management Programme consists of seven 3-day residential modules, spread over 1 year. The scheme gives an overview of the different themes within the programme
Beroepsperspectief en arbeidsmarkt
All participants need to have at least 4 years of management experience and 8 years of professional experience. Participants’ ages range between 32 and 45 (with an average age of 38). These criteria assure solid horizontal learning within the group. Moreover, the International Management Programme’s unique asset is the networking: exchanging ideas and experiences
